PathOS - D5.2 Training Plan
Authors/Creators
Description
PathOS is a Horizon Europe project aiming to collect concrete evidence of Open Science effects, study the pathways of Open Science practices, from input to output, outcome and impact, including the consideration of enabling factors and key barriers.
This deliverable presents an updated version of the PathOS Training Plan. The training program targets a diverse range of Open Science stakeholders, including policy officers, funders, university executives, research infrastructure managers, librarians, OS experts, researchers, scientometricians, and publishers. The main objectives of PathOS Training are to equip targeted groups with the knowledge, skills, and guidance needed to use the PathOS outputs, maximise their uptake in the long term, and hence their impact. The training plan is structured around four key topics:
-
Handbook of Open Science Impact Indicators, Tools, and Data
-
Cost-Benefit Analysis for Open Science
-
Key Impact Pathways for Open Science Impact
-
Academic, Economic, and Societal Impact of Open Science
A cross-cutting element of the training is the integration of case studies, demonstrating real-world applications of Open Science impact assessment methodologies.
The PathOS training program employs a blended learning approach to ensure broad accessibility and engagement. The Training Toolkit provides structured resources, including guidelines, checklists, and templates, to support training organization. Online training events consist of live webinars, offering expert insights and interactive discussions open to all target groups. In-Person training events include workshops and sprints held alongside major conferences, tailored to specific audiences, and concluding with a final PathOS event summarizing key findings. The Train-the-Trainer Program was developed in collaboration with UK Reproducibility Network. Finally, the E-Learning (part of the exploitation activities after the project duration) on OpenPlato will offer a self-paced, interactive learning experience, featuring recorded sessions, expert interviews, and key resources to ensure long-term knowledge retention.
The training plan outlines the learning objectives and expected outcomes of interactive sessions and training events and identifies the key target audience. It also covers various training topics/themes, training methods and formats, activity plans and assessment and evaluation strategies to ensure the sustainability and long-term legacy of the key project outputs.
