Description
This is a poster presentation introducing the reader to the Climate Cooperative Initiatives Database (C-CID).
Cooperative climate initiatives (CCIs) are collaborative arrangements involving two or more actors, including at least one non-state actor (e.g. businesses, investors, or civil society organisations) or one subnational actor (e.g. municipalities or regional governments). CCIs aim to address climate mitigation and/or adaptation. Recent studies highlight the significant climate mitigation potential of these efforts, often exceeding the impact of individual commitments by non-state and subnational actors.
Moreover, CCIs can contribute to adaptation, resilience building, and help advance Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The Climate Cooperative Initiatives Database (C-CID) aims to bolster integrity, accountability and trust among participants of CCIs by tracking progress and effectiveness, and identifying best practices. Additionally, C-CID can support research and policy-making, facilitating the scaling of high integrity initiatives and optimising resource allocation.
