Safe-by-Design of DNA origami-based biosensors: Moving towards safer nano-innovations

Description

The increasing number of nanotechnology-based applications emerging from and for the medical field not only accentuates a growing need for such products, but also puts the spotlight on high expectations. Alongside the development of such advanced technical applications, a Safe-by-Design (SbD) concept can ensure a safe(r) innovation process and ultimately prevent late developmental failures. During development and innovation processes, clarity on safety-related topics is an essential prerequisite for technology acceptance. Eliminating hazards during the in-design phase is more feasible and cost-efficient than adapting in a later developmental stage, when hazards have already emerged to become actual risks.

This poster was presented at the PBP World Meeting in Vienna March 18-21, 2024.
