ERA5-driven reduced-Mediterranean RegCM5-BATS CP simulation

Description

This dataset represents a 10-year (1995–2004) evaluation experiment using the Regional Climate Model, RegCM5, configured with the BATS land surface scheme and driven by ERA5 reanalysis data. It includes the namelists for the intermediate 0.11° EURO-CORDEX simulation and the high-resolution 0.03° convection-permitting (CP) simulation over a reduced Mediterranean domain. The NetCDF files provided include the fixed orography variable and daily outputs of precipitation, near-surface air temperature, and surface wind speed.

Climate indices derived from this dataset were evaluated and applied in the study “A climate suitability index for ecological habitats applied to terrestrial arthropods in the Mediterranean Region,” available as a preprint: https://doi.org/10.5194/egusphere-2024-1954.
