Child Wellbeing Research and Policy Community

The presentation reports on various training, outreach and policy activities within the COORDINATE project. The project supported researchers through Transnational Access Visits (TAVs) and collaborative efforts across Europe. The aim was to provide access to international birth cohort data and to promote research through physical visits and networking. Researchers received support in analyzing complex datasets, acquiring new skills and collaborating on research. Important contributions came from experts in the fields of communication, outreach, training and network development. As part of the project, 196 applications were processed and 139 visits were granted, resulting in numerous scientific papers and conference presentations. Training activities such as pitch events, summer schools and webinars helped to raise awareness and improve data analysis skills. The project also emphasized the importance of policy engagement and produced briefings on the impact of longitudinal data on child welfare policy. Recommendations for future projects include expanding training formats, promoting interdisciplinary collaboration and improving data literacy. The GUIDE network aims to ensure the long-term sustainability of research on child and adolescent well-being in Europe. Overall, the project has made a significant contribution by connecting researchers, policy makers and institutions across Europe.
