Train2Wind is a Marie Sklodowska Curie action Training fellows in enTrainment in offshore Wind power. The basic question is, how much offshore wind power can we build together before it seriously affects the common wind resource in the area.
13 PhD students and several short-term fellows collaborate on this issue using advanced computer modelling, measurements from satellites, unmanned aerial systems and lidars, and modelling in wind tunnels to establish the details of the entrainment mechanism of momentum transfer into large offshore wind farms.
