This community is led by the Cartographic Engineering Research Group (GIIC) of the University of Jaén (Spain).

The GIIC has been operating since 1997 and one of its main lines of research is the quality of geospatial data.

The GIIC has extensive experience in basic and applied research. More than 10 doctoral theses, 100 articles and numerous communications have been produced on this topic. In addition, quality assessments have been carried out on numerous geospatial data products for cartographic agencies.

The GIIC has also led the Master's Degree of Science in Quality Assessment and Management of Geographical Information (University of Jaén).
