The objective of CarboSeq is to come from a theoretical or physical potential to a practicably possible potential. Such a potential must be feasible under given socio-economic conditions and must be based on technologies or practices that have already been demonstrated or established in practice. Beyond this, economic constraints are required to be included as market and non-market costs of SOC-sequestration measures. Such measures are to be based on a consensus within the agricultural sector and need to be realistic concerning maximal adoption rate, farming contexts and prospected evolutions in the upcoming decades.
