The Associate Editors (AE) will organise, and encourage other scientists to organise, recurring benchmark case sessions at international conferences. Contributors are highly recommended and encouraged to submit a proposal of a benchmark case to such an upcoming event (conference, symposium). This gives the authors of new benchmark cases the possibility to adjust and optimise the defined benchmark case prior to submitting it to this website.
Submitting benchmark cases
The existing benchmark cases serve as good practice examples for the submission of new benchmark cases. However, the minimum requirement for defining a benchmark case/dataset is similar to presenting results in a scientific paper, i.e. the necessary information to reproduce the results should be present. Also, a benchmark case should be valuable for its related technical field and the benchmark editors prefer datasets published in combination with scientific articles. Contributors of new benchmark cases or solutions to existing benchmark cases submit a case by e-mail to one of the editors of the benchmark cases.
Send us your Proposal (Stefan Schoder) or by creating a benchmark dataset on Zenodo, one can assign "EAA Computational Acoustics" as community and we get noticed directly of a new submission.
Accepting benchmark cases
The editors will assign an expert-editor to handle the submitted (solution to a) benchmark case. The expert-editor will review the submitted matter, and/or request peer expert(s) to review the submission:
- Linear acoustics (Jonathan Hargreaves, Manfred Kaltenbacher)
- High frequency acoustics (Monika Rychtáriková, Juan Miguel Navarro Ruiz)
- Acoustics and vibration (Olivier Dazel, Edwin Reynder)
- Acoustics involving heterogeneous and moving fluids (Stefan Schoder, Stefan Becker)
A case will either be accepted, rejected, or a revision will be asked for.
Utilizing benchmark cases
The editors will encourage scientists in all fields of computational acoustics to submit and use the benchmark cases, and to volunteer as a reviewer of benchmark cases for a specific field. Also, the editors will encourage young scientists to deploy the benchmark cases, e.g. by including benchmark cases at summer and winter schools in acoustics.
