A Validation Service for COAR Notify Notifications

The technical foundation of the COAR Notify initiative is the sending, receiving, and processing of Linked Data Notifications (LDNs) by repositories, value-added services such as peer review services, aggregators, and other parties of the web-based scholarly communication landscape. The COAR Notify project outlines a number of use cases, for example, an author requesting peer review for their preprint and details corresponding patterns, which specify the LDN payload. In order to support implementation partners, we were motivated to design and develop an online validation service for LDNs that provides feedback on the notifications' compliance with Notify patterns. In this developer track presentation, we will introduce the COAR Notify Validator, highlight its technical components, demonstrate its functionality, and discuss further features we plan to implement.
