Expérience des voyageurs vulnérables dans un environnement de transport public connecté et automatisé

  • 1. Etelätär Innovation OÜ

Description

In the PAsCAL project, 5 pilots around CAV (Autonomous and Connected Vehicle) technologies were
carried out, one of them had an emphasis on the experience and acceptance of vulnerable people
(such as blind, elderly or with personal mobility constraints). This pilot was composed of four distinct
activities, which allow a better understanding of the potential of CAVs on the mobility of people with
disabilities, but also their risks and dangers:

  1. Testing of a connected and accessible public transport application (Apertum) in Madrid;
  2. Focus Discussion Groups with blind persons;
  3. UI/UX testing of the Apertum application with elderly people;
  4. Interview with stakeholders.

This paper presents our findings and resulting recommendations for making connected transport
environments more suitable for vulnerable travellers and how they can even support them in the future.
