Description
Expands the ELM snowpack model from 5 to 16 layers, improves ice sheet surface densities, and includes an optimized firn densification model. More details are provided by Schneider, A., Zender C. S., & Price, S. (2022) in the article titled "More Realistic Intermediate Depth Dry Firn Densification in the Energy Exascale Earth System Model (E3SM)," published in the Journal of Advances in Modeling Earth Systems.
