Mediterranean Sea Surface Currents Dataset

Interpolated surface currents of the Mediterranean Sea based on observations (Drifters, satellite altimetry, High Frequency Radar). The time range is 2013-2021 with one result per month. The spatial resolution is set to 1/4°. The zip contains one netCDF file per year and each contains 12 months of decomposed velocities along zonal and meridional axis (u & v velocities). The validation is performed on the year 2021 against independent drifters and performed within open access code available at: - https://blue-cloud.d4science.org/group/coastalcurrentsfromobservations
