How Much Bandwidth Does a Home Need? (Polish) - Researchers' Night, Budapest
Description
Every year, Ericsson invites its university partners to showcase research in action. This year, ELTE's demo was titled “How much bandwidth does a household need?”. We explored the role of Quality of Service (QoS) in managing household internet traffic. Using the per packet value method and the configuration API developed in DESIRE6G, we showed visitors how different applications (cloud gaming, video calls, streaming, downloading, etc.) compete for bandwidth, and how QoS ensures a smooth experience.
The mostly young audience (8-20 years old) enjoyed experimenting with changing the “household’s” internet subscription (emulating access from 2G to 5G+), adjusting the mix of applications, and setting priorities as QoS policies. The night was very busy and full of curious questions.
