Principles of Open Science Monitoring: Launching the OSMI Framework
Description
Presentation from Open Science: Monitoring Progress, Assessing Impact conference held 7–8 July 2025 at UNESCO Headquarters in Paris and online.
Annotation:
The final version of the OSMI Principles will be introduced in this session, a framework developed through international collaboration to support the design of open science monitoring systems. Aimed at policymakers, funders, institutions, and infrastructures, the Principles promote transparency, inclusiveness, and adaptability in tracking open science progress. The presentation will outline their scope, practical relevance, and potential applications. A panel of experts will then explore how the Principles can inform policy, infrastructure development, and research software practices. The session concludes with a moderated discussion and audience questions.
