Description

This deliverable reports on the current characteristics of the third release of the prepsoil.eu website, one of the assets of the PREPSOIL project, and the latest implemented improvements. The deliverable has been published on 30 June 2023.

The third release has been built on top of the first (D3.2, M4) and second releases of the website (D3.3, M7). After publishing an initial version (V0) on 8 July 2022, which included a single page website developed on Drupal, the website has undergone several enhancements to provide the necessary tools and visibility for the PREPSOIL activities. The release in M4 (V1) entailed a considerable expansion of the website with the addition of the sections covering the soil threats in the EU, soil resources, news & events and the integration of the LL/LH interactive map. In the following second release (V2) two further engagement channels were developed and implemented on the website, namely the PREPSOIL Forum and the Communities of Practice section.

The main feature of this third release (V3) is the addition of the Knowledge Hub, an open online repository of internal and external soil-related resources, the creation of the Soil in Practice area, which brings together the Soil Advocates, Communities of Practice and Best Teaching Practices sections, and the integration of a subsection dedicated to the PREPSOIL Regional Soil Needs Workshops. Additionally, a number of changes have been implemented to different areas of the website to improve the overall user experience.

The main purpose of the website, its roadmap for future releases and additional relevant information have been detailed in the PREPSOIL Web Portal concept deliverable (D3.1).
