Description

The Clustering Event was organized in collaboration between TipESM and ClimTip, two sister projects funded under the same Horizon Europe call on Climate-related tipping points, on 7-10 April 2025. The event took place in Paris, France, hosted at the Henri Poincaré Institute of the Sorbonne University and online. It consisted of three parts: (1) a scientific conference, (2) a cross-project workshop (breakout sessions), and (3) a session on storylines. The scientific conference was arranged around five themes related to tipping points research:

● Cryosphere;

● Biosphere, including the Amazon;

● Atlantic Meridional Overturning Circulation (AMOC), Subpolar Gyre (SPG), and uncertainties of their projections;

● Tipping points prediction methodologies;

● Impacts and communication of tipping points research results.

Each theme featured scientific talks from several projects, along with ample time for discussion of scientific results. The discussions continued in the breakout groups during the cross-project workshop, which was organised across the same five themes. To round off, the event featured a hands-on session, where participants practised developing storylines for selected tipping events. The Book of Abstracts of this Event is available in Zenodo https://zenodo.org/records/15302644
