D3.1 Technical Requirements, Architecture and Testing Plan
Creators
Description
Project HARPOCRATES investigates technologies, tools and solutions for secure and privacy-preserving data processing and sharing. We use two demonstrators to validate the security solutions developed in the project. The demonstrators are (i) threat intelligence generation and sharing between local authorities, exploring exchange of threat intelligence information between two regional governments in EU member states (Italy and Spain) and (ii) collaborative use of Machine Learning in Sleep Medicine, exploring exchange of sleep research data between three research institutions located in three EU member states (Finland, France, and Germany). Solutions developed in the project will be applied to these demonstrators and subsequently presented. This document contains the technical requirements solicited in close collaboration with the demonstrator partners, architecture of the HARPOCRATES solution toolbox containing the enablers developed by the technical partners, as well as the testing plan for the solutions. The two demonstrators described in this document represent vastly different technological prerequisites, data models and operational constraints. This is reflected both in their overall descriptions, as well as in the threat models, requirements, and target operations. Their detailed description in this document is an important early contribution of the project. They highlight the stringent requirements towards privacy-preserving solutions based on practical
challenges, as well challenge to various implicit and explicit assumptions.
The document also describes the enablers to be developed in HARPOCRATES to address the demonstrator requirements. The enablers described in this document reflect the variety of complementary approaches that need to be combined and tailored according to the specific context and peculiarities of the application use cases.
This document reconciles the wide range of demonstrator requirements with the limitations of the state-of-the art technologies used in the enablers. It also serves as a roadmap for the remainder of the project in the implementation of the HARPOCRATES solution toolbox and implementation of the demonstrators.
