THEIA-XR: Technology Analysis and Requirements Specification (first Version) (D2.2)

In this document, the work performed in Task 2.2 will be summarized. Task 2.2 is very closely related to the work performed in Task 2.1 and is using the information described in deliverable D2.1. It will go more into detail about the use case and provides a detailed overview of the different scenarios defined in deliverable D2.1. 

The deliverable starts with an overview of the state-of-the-art of the different research domains that are targeted within the THEIAXR project and that will help us towards the final results of the project. This is partially based on the state-of-the-art information already provided in the project proposal but is now more extended and described in detail. The analysis will focus on topics like XR technologies, human-machine interaction, co-design, privacy, etc. 

The document will also provide more details about the use case definitions. It will reference the use case descriptions from deliverable D2.1 and describe the different activities in the scenarios of the use cases. It will provide a more detailed overview of the scenarios and where the XR technologies can come into play. 

Furthermore, the deliverable will identify a first set of requirements for the different technologies and for the use cases. These requirements are separated into functional, non-functional, and technical requirements and will be defined for the individual use cases and the technologies. Keep in mind here, that this is the first version of these requirements, and they will be defined in much more detail during the first phase half of the project where the first step in technical developments will take place. In the second version of the deliverable, the requirements will be updated and extended based on the experiences made in the first half of the project. 

Finally, the deliverable will also focus on the Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) defined during the proposal phase. This KPIs will be used to evaluate the final results of the project. They will be defined in more detail regarding KPI evaluation and what are the baselines they will be evaluated against. 

As mentioned before, this is the first version of this deliverable and will be updated during the first half of the project, so the use case descriptions and the requirements will be defined in more detail. At the moment of writing this deliverable, we are in the middle of defining the requirements and therefore not all requirements are defined in full detail yet. The developments in the technical work packages (WP3-WP6) will influence the work here and the consortium will continuously update this information.
