Survey results: Data quality in the application of agricultural system data.
Description
In times of increasing technologisation of the agricultural sector, more and more digital data is generated, which increases the importance of topics such as FAIR data management and data quality. In FAIRagro, a consortium of the National Research Data Infrastructure (NFDI), we have set ourselves the task of analysing the various aspects of data quality in agriculture. In order to identify current user-specific requirements and challenges regarding data quality, we conducted an extensive survey in the agricultural community. In this survey, 27 questions were asked about data produced and (re)used, data quality aspects, use of standards, publication practices and legal aspects. In total, 321 people fill out the questionnaire, 211 of whom completed it in full. The given poster presents a selection of the results, focussing on the quality criteria considered most important by the community, as well as users' responses to current challenges in the area of data quality. The biggest challenges are the lack of time and missing standards in the areas of data quality, metadata, data structures and data processes. In addition, there is a general lack of information about data quality and metadata as well as criticism of the existing digital infrastructure.
