Description

Največ pacientov urgentni center obišče ob ponedeljkih in najmanj ob četrtkih. V povprečju največ pacientov pride ob 9h in ob 15h.

ABSTRACT

Emergency rooms are the entry points to healthcare for many patients in Slovenia. They are visited by more people and more money is invested in them each year. In this retrospective observational study, we looked at trends in emergency room visits in Maribor in 2023. We analysed 102,753 triages of patients who entered an emergency centre in Maribor. We found that the gender of patients was approximately equally represented, with 49 % of patients being female. Most patients visit the emergency centre on Mondays and the least on Thursdays. On average, most patients arrive at 9am and 3pm. A review of triage preferences shows that 3 % of patients were triaged blue, 55 % green, 34 % yellow, 6 % orange and 0.4 % red. The most common diagnoses were observation for suspected unspecified disease or condition, superficial scalp injury and unspecified abdominal pain. Slovenia collects triage data uniformly and centrally in most emergency centres. Regular analysis of these data can help to shape health policy at both national and local level to make better use of this important resource in healthcare.
