D4.2 – Preventive Health & Safety Application v2

The COGITO Deliverable D4.2 “Preventive Health & Safety Application v2” aims at documenting the second and integrated version of the developed Health and Safety Application called SafeConAI and consequently at reporting on the second iteration of the COGITO Task T4.1 “Health & Safety Prevention through Design and Planning” development activities.

In summary, the Preventive Health and Safety Application, called SafeConAI and its domain model (SafeConDM) contribute to the automated assessment of building models from the perspective of construction safety. The SafeConAI application enhances the resulting model in two ways. First, by injecting the identified environment features and hazardous spaces into the BIM model, and second, by integrating the mitigation measures of the identified hazards. Specifically, the developed algorithms approximate the environment features of the models and identify the spatial artefacts (e.g., walkable spaces, fall hazard spaces) in accordance with the safety regulations. In the current version of the prototype, we analyze the European, Danish, German, and US regulations.

Throughout this document it is described how SafeConAI is integrated with the Digital Twin Platform through API calls, and how the health and safety personnel will be able to use the system through the SafeConUI, which is a graphical user interface. The document contains both relatively technical description of the actual implementation, but also non-technical graphical illustrations documenting the usage and working principle.
