The encounter with certain literary characters is also (and perhaps primarily) an encounter with masks, revelations, emotional and sentimental foundations, and different ways of reorganizing unexpected events. To some extent, the level of fiction functions as an experiential accelerator: the book, with its stories, condenses events into a limited space-time (the pages) that would sometimes take months or even years to unfold. The individual who invests their time delving into literary scenarios, on one hand, accepts being "accompanied" for a more or less brief period of life by figures and situations they may never encounter outside the same work. On the other hand, at the end of this “journey”, through a necessary self-exegesis, they may have the opportunity to recognize new stimuli, individual differences, and unprecedented inspirations. This is the moment when literature, transitioning from the written page, becomes incorporated into one’s interiority, leading to a kind of personal recognition.
