ySKILLS – Children and young people (aged 12-17)'s digital skills: Evidence-based recommendations for policy and practice

Description

In this report, we present evidence-based recommendations for policy and practice arising from the ySKILLS project, a Horizon 2020 funded Research and Innovation Action, carried out between 2020 and 2023. The project has investigated the relationship between 12–17-year-old's digital skills and their wellbeing. The overall aim has been to enhance and maximise the positive long-term impact of the ICT environment on multiple aspects of wellbeing for all children and young people by stimulating resilience through the enhancement of digital skills. This aim is grounded in an understanding that unequal opportunities to access and use digital media can influence how people develop digital skills which in turn can introduce, sustain and enhance inequalities in the potential outcomes of having digital skills, including for the wellbeing of young people.
