Description

Training course prepared for ECHA, as well as EFSA and the PBT Expert Group on how to assess mobility. The training course presents several modules:

1.  Background & history of the mobility parameter in the PMT/vPvM criteria

Presents the background on the reason to have mobility withi the ne hazard classes PMT and vPvM, rather than just as part of risk assessment.

2.  Available definite and alternative parameters & their suitability

Includes background to soil sorption theory, as well as standarding testing like OECD 106, OECD 121 and OECD 312

3.  Estimation methods and alternative approaches

Everything from using Dow as a proxy to the chemical application domains of QSARs and LFERs

4.  Data limitations

How to choose the best data?

5.  Challenges posed by difficult to test substances incl. UVCBs/multi-constituents

The frontier of hazard assessment

6.  Combined Persistence and Mobility assessments

How many PMT/vPvM substances are out there?
