Developing Guidelines for Metadata Collection and Curation for Research Software

  • 1. Inria, Software Heritage

Description

This presentation was part of the FAIR-IMPACT webinar conducted on May 23rd 2023 to review the first draft of the Resaerch Software MetaData (RSMD) guidelines for the collection and curation of metadata. These Guidelines provide a set of recommendations to archive, reference, describe and cite research software following existing community practices (e.g the FAIR4RS principles). During the webinar inputs were requested from participants on a Q&A document and on a shared Google doc. The guidelines were developed by the FAIR-IMPACT "Standard metadata for research software" team, with joint efforts of the other partners in the FAIR-IMPACT project and the FAIRCORE4EOSC project.

The agenda includes:

  • Research Software in the FAIR-IMPACT project

  • Preparing the guidelines - a large community effort

  • The Research Software MetaData (RSMD) guidelines proposal

  • How to contribute after this webinar?
