  • 1. University of Florida

Description

Synopsis: The University of Florida (UF) was one of thirteen key Coalition for Networked Information (CNI) member institutions selected to participate in the CNI Executive Roundtable Discussion on Data Science as a Research Support Service and the Role of Libraries on March 16, 2022. The Dean of Libraries shared the call of expressions of interest with the Data Management Librarian. The UF Team was comprised of the Dean of the Libraries, Senior Director IT Research Computing, and Data Management Librarian. UF's responses to the ten (10) CNI questions provided to the participating institutional team were developed with contributions from the Senior Director of IT Research Computing, Director of Clinical and Translational Science IT, and Data Management Librarian. This presentation includes: 1.) alignment with Goal 4 of 7, and Objective 4 of 4 of UF's Strategic Planning, 2.) progression of activities leading to participation, 3.) the 10 questions provided to the participating key CNI member institutions, 4.) examples of two research support drivers, 5.) recommendations (includes equity series image), 6.) relevant current and future projects led by the libraries related to data support services, 7.) an exemplar data services support model from the University College London Supercomputing 2022 conference poster (Ahmed et al., 2022), and 8.) Horizon Opportunities (Macneil, 2022).

Conference: This presentation is ahead of the 24th International Conference on Grey Literature on December 5, 2022. A Mp4 video was developed from this presentation for the conference (virtual) which includes responses to all the questions in the presentation.
