TYPE DEPOSITORY: of A. cetratus: Museum of Gothenburg, Sweden; of A. bispinatus, A. halophilus and A. erlangensis: not stated.

TYPE LOCALITY AND HABITAT: of A. cetratus: Iceland, on vegetable debris; of A. bispinatus: Strandkjaer, Denmark, in soil; of A. halophilus: Ciechocinek, Weichsel, southeast of Thorn, Poland, from salt marsh, between roots of Salicorniae herbacea, Atropis distans and Aster tripolium [Plantae: Asteraceae]; of A. erlangensis: according to Sellnick, 1958: 24, Bavaria, Germany, on unstated substrate.

NOTES: (a) Bernhard (1963: 151) suspected Laelaps (Iphis) semiscissus Berlese to be a senior synonym of L. cetratus; (b) Lindquist (1964a: 93; 1964b: 3895) and Farrier & Hennessey (1993: 24) considered Arctoseius limburgensis Nesbitt, 1954 to be a junior synonym of A. cetratus. We adopted the interpretation of Halliday et al. (1998: 16), considering A. limburgensis a junior synonym Arctoseius semiscissus (Berlese).
