Breaking continuity to prevent catastrophic building collapse - Experimental dataset 1 (Isolated fuses)
Creators
Description
Results from tensile tests performed on modified mechanical couplers (fuses) designed to limit the tensile force that can be transmitted through them. Unlike conventional couplers, which are designed to be stronger than rebars, these fuses are conceived to facilitate the segmentation of a building structure in extreme scenarios in order to isolate a collapse.
The dataset also includes results from benchmark tests performed on continuous rebars and original (unmodified) couplers.
This work is part of a project (Endure) that has received funding from the European Research Council (ERC) under the European Union’s Horizon 2020 research and innovation programme (Grant agreement No. 101000396).
