WHO Guidelines for malaria

WHO Guidelines for malaria

In 2021, the World Health Organization Global Malaria Programme  (WHO/GMP) launched the WHO Guidelines for malaria, bringing together all of the Organization’s current recommendations for malaria on prevention, case management, elimination and surveillance. These clear, evidence-based recommendations are designed to guide end users in malaria-endemic countries as they develop national malaria policy and strategic plans.

The aim is to deliver timely, high-quality recommendations through processes that are transparent, consistent, efficient and predictable. For this purpose, systematic reviews, background papers and other unpublished evidence that were considered by the Guidelines Development Groups to develop WHO recommendations are made publicly available.

The World Health Organization (WHO) regularly convenes the world's leading malaria experts to review available evidence and advise on recommendations to control and eliminate malaria. In 2021, the WHO Global Malaria Programme (WHO/GMP) launched the WHO guidelines for malaria, bringing together all of the Organization’s current recommendations for malaria on a single platform hosted by MAGICapp. These clear, evidence-based recommendations are designed to guide end users in malaria-endemic countries as they develop national malaria policy and strategic plans.
