The SMART community shares data supporting peer reviewed publications and research by the consortium partners. In addition, it may accept high level work from peers that is complementary to the work performed by the partners, that benefits the goal of the SMART project:

- Development of novel self-healing materials for soft devices

- Development of smart material functions such as electroactive and magnetorheological materials for flexible smart devices

- Sensing of damage in elastomeric materials and soft devices

- Kinematic and dynamic control strategies for soft robotic devices

- New soft actuator designs to overcome current challenges in robotic actuation
