Aim

Project PHILOTIS focuses on the creation of the infrastructure, the methodology and the tools for the recording, analysis and documentation of living spoken languages, with emphasis on idioms. The infrastructure is characterized by state-of-the-art multimodal technologies (text, image, audio), while the tools will integrate into an advanced digital platform for language analysis and documentation using machine learning techniques. 

Goal

The immediate goal is the successful integration of state-of-the-art technologies focused on recording of living spoken languages and their endowment with digital resources and tools with the ultimate goal of maintaining and functioning internationally.

The development support framework utilizes modern technology and adapts to the specific needs and characteristics of the individual languages, offering methodology, good practices and digital services. PHILOTIS presents the dynamics to support excellence and business activity in the field of Language Technology, providing unique resources and cutting-edge technologies. At the same time, it will employ specialized young scientists crossing the borders of the humanities and informatics. The technology will be scalable and reusable, which ensures its viability.
