Microbial communities are ubiquitous, complex and dynamic systems that underpin important processes in nature, biomedicine and biotechnology. The recent influx in research related to microbiomes demonstrates the interest of the scientific community in obtaining fundamental understanding of these systems as well as understanding their implications in the various processes they underpin. Consequently, the increasing interest towards this topic has brought about a large amount of information and data.
This community is created to centralize any material related to microbiome studies including, but not limited to data, software, metadata or any other data types that do not fit within other standardised repositories. (e.g. NCBI-SRA, ENA, PRIDE, etc.). We welcome and encourage researchers to share data with regards to any microbial community data, be it microbial communities in situ, laboratory cultured communities, synthetic communities or computationally simulated communities. We also strongly encourage to share reproducible software and code with the functionality of Zenodo to link to GitHub repository.
