The Institute for Solid State Chemistry Bordeaux (French: Institut de Chimie de la Matière Condensée de Bordeaux, ICMCB) was founded in 1995. It is part of the CNRS, but is associated with the Science and Technology Department of University of Bordeaux, and also maintains close links with the local engineering school Polytechnical Institute of Bordeaux (IPB) and the technical college Institut Universitaire de Technologie (IUT, now part of Université de Bordeaux).
