The GEPOC team is internationally reputed for its research in estimation, prediction optimization and control. Guaranteed estimation based on interval algebra, zonotopes algebra and DC programming have been used to derive algorithms for estimation and identification. Model-based techniques based on nonlinear fault detection and isolation, filters and mixed model- and data-based fault detection and isolation techniques have also been studied. In economic optimization and control, this team has a large experience accounting more than 100 journal papers in high impact factor journals. In addition, in order to tackle the energy issue efficiency the team includes experts not only in systems automation, but also in thermodynamics. The GEPOC team has actively led and participated in numerous national (POWER, PRINMODI, etc.) and European research projects (HD-MPC, FeedNetBack, etc.) dealing with the optimal and robust control of complex interconnected uncertain systems.
