EURCAW-Poultry-SFA knowledge base

The EURCAW-Poultry-SFA has been created in February 2020 to support the European Commission and the EU Member States in the applications of legislation regarding poultry and other small farmed animals' welfare.  EURCAW-Poultry-SFA's consortium is composed of members from ANSES (coordinator), IRTA, ANIS, and IZSLER.

The EURCAW-Poultry-SFA knowledge base is a curated, open repository dedicated to the Centre’s output production.

Our aim is to:

- make available the EURCAW-Poultry-SFA outputs related to our five activities and relevant to the EU Member States Competent Authorities (CAs) and their Supporting Bodies (SBs),

- link available external documents (e.g. scientific publications, reports, technical and review papers…) related to the activity of the Centre and relevant to the CAs and SBs.

The platform is only dedicated to EURCAW-Poultry-SFA ‘s production including reports, reviews, webinars, factsheets, images, videos, experimental studies outputs, Q2E answers, and good practice documents.

EURCAW-Poultry-SFA is co-funded by the European Commission.

The establishment of Animal Welfare Reference Centres is laid down in the Official Controls Regulation (Articles 95 & 96). In October 2019, the European Commission designated a second EU Reference Centre for Animal Welfare dedicated to the welfare of poultry and other small farmed animals: 'EURCAW-Poultry-SFA' (COMMISSION IMPLEMENTING DECISION (EU) 2019/1685 of 4 October 2019).

EURCAW-Poultry-SFA has been created to support the European Commission and the EU Member States Competent Authorities in the applications of legislation regarding poultry and other small farmed animals' welfare.  EURCAW-Poultry-SFA's consortium is composed of members from ANSES (coordinator), IRTA, ANIS, and IZSLER.

EEURCAW-Poultry-SFA receives its funding from the Directorate-General for Health and Food Safety of the European Commission, as well as from the national governments of three partners forming the Centre: ANSES, ANIS (Aarhus University), and IZSLER.

The platform is only dedicated to EURCAW-Poultry-SFA ‘s production including reports, reviews, webinars, factsheets, images, videos, experimental studies outputs, Q2E answers, and good practice documents.
