Curation Policy

Introduction

The EIMS Digital Library Repository (hosted on Zenodo) is dedicated to preserving and sharing high-quality scientific and Institutional content. This policy outlines the curation process to ensure all submissions meet our Academic and Professional standards, contributing to Dental Research and Education.

The repository is divided into two distinct spaces:

  • Public Space: Open to the Academic Community for sharing research, case studies, educational materials, and EIMS public regulations and policies
  • Reserved Space: Accessible only to authorized individuals, containing EIMS internal documentation, policies, and administrative guidelines.

Public Space

The public space is dedicated to hosting and sharing the following types of content:

  • Academic and Scientific Activities: Includes research outputs, case studies, and teaching materials published by EIMS staff and academic guests.
  • Research by EIMS Staff and Academic Guests: A platform for peer-reviewed research, educational resources, and clinical cases authored by EIMS faculty and invited scholars.
  • Collaborative and External Contributions: Submissions from external contributors and affiliated members, provided they align with EIMS’s projects and academic standardsFor detailed information on criteria and submission requirements, please refer to our Collaboration Guidelines.
  • EIMS Public Regulations and Policies: Official EIMS regulations, guidelines, and policies deemed suitable for public access. These documents support transparency in governance and institutional operations, and ensure that academic and administrative procedures are accessible to a wider audience.

All submissions to the public space will undergo review based on:

  • Relevance to the fields of dental and healthcare education and research
  • Scientific rigor and ethical guidelines compliance
  • Contribution to the institutional mission and academic objectives

Approved works will be freely accessible to foster collaboration and shared learning within the global academic community.

Reserved Space

The reserved space contains:

  • Administrative and Academic Documentation: Internal documents such as Institutional policies, detailed guidelines, and regulations, available only to authorized users.
  • Restricted Access: This section is accessible solely to EIMS Faculty, staff, and students, ensuring proper confidentiality and management of sensitive information.

Curation and Review Process

All submissions undergo a review process, evaluated by a curation team based on their relevance, quality, and adherence to EIMS objectives. The review process includes:

  1. Submission: Authors submit content through the Zenodo platform.
  2. Initial Review: The curation team assesses whether the submission aligns with the repository’s scope.
  3. Detailed Evaluation: For academic works, an in-depth evaluation of scientific merit and compliance with guidelines is performed.
  4. Approval or Revisions: Submissions are either approved for publication or returned for revision.

Ethical Standards

EIMS adheres to the highest ethical standards in research and publication. All submissions must comply with the EIMS Code of Ethics. Any submission that violates these standards, such as through plagiarism or data falsification, will be rejected.
