The quality of academic teaching is a multi-layered and multi-perspective phenomenon which evaluation is complex. For this  reason it requires a permanent reflection, through a process in which teachers, students, and stakeholders are involved. This form of collaboration leads to gradual awareness on quality as applied concept, and better competences to implement quality. In fact, People can achieve quality if they engage in open, participatory, iterative trajectories within institutions, entailing personal identity construction connected to a feeling of satisfaction for the well-done work . In this context measurement tools and final quality controls are only a means “toward the end of satisfying the peace of mind of those responsible for the work” (Pirsig, first edition 1974, 2005, p.304)
