The Anton Pannekoek Institute for Astronomy (API) in Amsterdam (the Netherlands) furthers research, teaching, and public understanding of astronomy. It conducts astronomical research and trains astronomers from bachelor to postdoctoral level, aiming at world-leading level in its activities.
The astronomy research at the institute is organised in five research groups in two research themes "Origins of Life" and "High-Energy Astrophysics" that explore topics like: exoplanets, stellar populations, black holes and neutron stars.
