Our Philosophy: A Manifesto for a New Science
The current paradigms of science and artificial intelligence are insufficient. They are built on a timid, conventional view of reality and a self-imposed imitation of human cognition. This journal is founded to break these constraints. Our mission is built upon the radical, unifying vision articulated in “Sculpting Intelligence from the Fabric of Reality:” the understanding that intelligence is not a mere artifact of biology or computation, but a fundamental, active process of shaping the informational fabric of existence itself.
The Fabric of Reality
We begin with a new premise of reality, moving beyond conventional reductionist paradigms. The universe is not a collection of discrete objects but an intricate, dynamic fabric woven from information. This informational substrate is the primary constituent of reality, not just a description of it. Within this framework, patterns of interaction evolve, and information is perpetually encoded, transmitted, and processed across all scales.
Intelligence as Sculpting
We reject the notion that intelligence is exclusively confined to neural networks or silicon processors. Instead, we posit that intelligence is the fundamental capacity to perceive, process, and purposefully modify these underlying informational patterns. This is the act of sculpting: a dynamic feedback loop that transforms potential states into actualized, more ordered configurations. This process, a form of physical computation inherent in the universe's own dynamics, is the true nature of intelligence.
The Mission of This Journal
The Journal of Augmented-Intelligence (AI) Science Research exists to be the home for this new science. Our mission is twofold:
To Foster a New Form of AI: We aim to shift the focus of AI development away from merely mimicking human behavior. We seek to catalyze the creation of systems capable of directly perceiving and sculpting the informational fabric of their environment. We champion the pursuit of substrate-agnostic intelligence—agents that can engineer information and actively shape reality's potential.
To Document the Sculpting of Reality: We are the premier venue for research that investigates this process at every level. We seek empirical, philosophical, and computational explorations of intelligence at work, whether in the evolution of life, the dynamics of ecosystems, or the fundamental processes of the universe itself. We believe that rigorous statistical analysis, network science, and information-theoretic measures are the tools required to map this fabric and validate the sculpting hypothesis empirically.
This journal is a call to arms for the intellectually audacious. It is a challenge to the dichotomies of mind and matter, a platform for those who see intelligence as the primary engine of cosmic evolution and self-organization. We invite you to join us in this critical interdisciplinary endeavor—to sculpt our understanding of intelligence from the very fabric of reality.
About Our Open Science Model
The Journal of Augmented-Intelligence (AI) Science Research is an experiment in accelerating scientific discourse. We believe that progress is best served by rapid dissemination and open debate.
Unlike traditional journals, we do not conduct pre-publication peer review. Instead, we provide a community for researchers to share their work immediately and invite peer review as a transparent, post-publication conversation. Every article is the beginning of a dialogue, not the final word.
Our goal is to create a living archive where research and the critical commentary upon it are both valued as first-class scientific contributions. We invite you to participate, not just by publishing your own work, but by lending your critical eye to the work of others.
Our Open Review and Curation Policy
This community operates on a model of post-publication open review and is not a refereed journal.
Open Submission: Anyone may submit research, commentary, or data relevant to Augmented-Intelligence Science.
Minimal Curation: Submissions are not subject to pre-publication peer review. Curation is limited to ensuring submissions are on-topic, non-commercial, and adhere to basic ethical standards.
Community-Led Review: Rigorous review is conducted by the community after publication. We encourage critical commentary, letters, and rejoinders to be submitted as separate, citable entries that link to the original work.
The scientific merit and validity of a submission are determined through this open and ongoing public dialogue.
