Review and critical comments on Gerring's social science methodology
Creators
Description
There are two parameters that can assessed when critically reviewing the second edition of a well-established textbook. First, have the revisions made the book an even better tool to teach students about social science methodology? Second, have the revisions brought the book up to date with current debates, providing students with state-of-the-art picture of the field? The following review concentrates on part III (causation) and part IV (conclusions) of the book. The review is written in light of the recent developments in the field of case study research by scholars such as Bennett, Checkel, Collier, Mahoney, and Waldner, among many others.
