Bridging the gap between search and IR
Description
Research carried out by the author for the European Commission in 2011 identified a lack of awareness by search managers and developers of the substantial amount of research into information retrieval that has been undertaken over the last two decades. In this paper the reasons for this situation and the implications for the development of knowledge organizations are considered.
