The Clustering Properties of Passive Galaxies
- 1. INAF-IAPS
- 2. INAF-OAR
Description
We investigate the clustering properties of z=3-5 passive galaxies and find that these inhabit haloes more massive than ≈10^13 solar masses. A comparison with results taken from the literature shows that this value remains unchanged down to the very local universe, implying that the environmental properties of passive galaxies have remained the same during more than 90% of the age of the Universe. This is at variance with what found for actively star-forming galaxies which instead show strong downsizing. We discuss possible implications.
