Description

Eutrombicula wichmanni (Oudemans, 1905)

Distribution. Australia, Burma, Brunei, China, Guam, Indonesia, Japan, Malaysia, Papua New Guinea, Philippines, Thailand (Stekolnikov 2021), Vietnam: Hanoi —chickens,dogs, Rattus tanezumi (= R. flavipectus), Rattus norvegicus; Lào Cai; Hà Giang and Nghệ An (Phủ Quỳ)— Rattus tanezumi (= R. flavipectus), Quảng Trị (Vĩnh Linh)— Rattus tanezumi (= R. flavipectus), Rattus exulans (= R. r. concolor), Thanh Hoá — Rattus sp. (= R. r. rufescens, R. r. kelaarti, R. r. alexandrinus), Rattus nitidus, humans, domestic animals (Schluger et al. 1963; Grochovskaja 1967). Thái Nguyên, Phú Thọ, Hòa Bình, Thái Bình, Nam Định, Nghệ An, Hà Tĩnh, Thừa Thiên Huḗ, Quảng Nam, Đà Nẵng, Lâm Đồng (Chau et al. 2007). Hosts with no locality indicated: Gekko gecko Linnaeus, birds, domestic animals, Dremomys pernyi, Menetes berdmorei, Berylmys bowersi (= R. bowersi), Rattus andamanensis (= R. koratensis), Rattus rattus, Rattus norvegicus (Chau et al. 2007; Stekolnikov 2021).
