The internal and international context of the Romanian-French military 
relations from the period 1930–1936

Summary. The period 1930–1936 represented a turning point for European and world politics, 
with events of crucial importance for the world geopolitical scene. It was a period when grievances, 
resentments and desires for revenge began to surface, as memories of the horrors of the First World 
War began to fade. The world was ready for a new global massacre. Romania tries to secure its 
borders with the help of its great French ally and the security system devised by France.
