Distribution. World: Egypt (Audouin 1826), Bay of Biscay (Bachelet et al. 2003), Gulf of Mexico (Felder & Camp 2009), Caribbean Sea, Colombia, Cuba (Miloslavich et al. 2010), Greece (Koukouras 2010), India (Rabindranath 1972d).
India: Western India Ecoregion: Gujarat (Srinivas et al. 2020); Arabian Sea (Surya Rao 1972); South India Ecoregion: Kerala (Rabindranath 1972d as Ampithoe (Ampithoe) ramondi Audouin, 1826); Tamil Nadu (Barnard 1935; Nayar 1966; Sivaprakasam 1969b); Eastern India Ecoregion: Tamil Nadu (Lyla et al. 1998); Northern Bay of Bengal: Bay of Bengal (Surya Rao 1972).
