Type locality: Clark Island, Port Jackson, New South Whales, Australia.
Synonyms: Cyproidea crinita Spandl, 1924; Cyproidia ornata Haswell, 1879.
Distribution. World: Australia (Haswell, 1879), India (Rabindranath 1972b).
India: Western India Ecoregion: Arabian Sea (Surya Rao 1972); South India Ecoregion: Kerala (Rabindranath 1972b); Tamil Nadu (Nayar 1959; 1966; Sivaprakasam 1966; Rabindranath 1972b); Eastern India Ecoregion: Tamil Nadu (Nayar 1959; Venkataraman 2007); Northern Bay of Bengal: Bay of Bengal (Surya Rao 1972).
