Description

This study is a continuation of research on robber flies of the eastern part of the Polish Pomerania and is based on materials collected in 2021 and 2022. Asilidae from the border of the Starogard Lakeland and Tuchola Forest are studied in terms of their species diversity, abundance, frequency, and seasonal dynamics. The examined adults belong to 5 subfamilies, 14 genera and 25 species, including several rare robber flies whose presence has not been confirmed in this part of Poland in the last decades. Data on Andrenosoma atrum (Linnaeus, 1758) are supplemented with a new record. Three species are reported from the Tuchola Forest for the first time: Choerades gilvus (Linnaeus, 1758), Didysmachus picipes (Meigen, 1820) and Philonicus albiceps (Meigen, 1820). A new annotated checklist of Asilidae of Poland is also presented.
