Chaetospania anderssoni Brindle, 1971

Description

Body 6.16 mm long without forceps, with a blackish sheen (Fig. 3a). Antennae dark brown, femora dark brownish with yellow apices (Fig. 3b), tibiae and tarsi yellow. Forceps reddish intensely sensitive (length 0.06 mm; width 0.07 mm), with transverse, punctate hind margin (Table 2). Eyes shorter than post-ocular region. Antennae with nine or more segments, first segment stout and shorter than distance between antennal bases (since apical segments tend to break off readily); second segment about as long as third, slender and about one and a half times longer than third segment. Fourth segment about as long as third and constricted at base. Fifth segment slightly longer than fourth but shorter than sixth. Pronotum length and width both 0.06 mm, punctate, parallel-sided, and apically rounded. Wings and tegmina well-developed (Fig. 3c), highly punctate and rugose; tegmen 0.10 mm long and 0.09 mm wide (Table 2). Tergites punctured, abdomen elongated, centre slightly enlarged. Ultimate tergite transverse measures 0.09 mm wide with rugose hind margin (Table 2). Thoracic sterna well developed (Fig. 3d). Abdomen elongated, slightly enlarged in middle, tergites punctured. Ultimate tergite transverse, median part of hind margin rugose (0.09 mm wide (Table 2)). Legs dark black and brownish colour with pubescent hairs (Fig. 3e). Pygidium transverse, forceps with remote branches at base, 1.84 mm long, nearly straight in basal half, gently incurved thereafter, tapering to pointed apices, inner edge differentiated into dorsal and ventral borders, projecting a little in centre of former (Fig. 3f). Genitalia with prominent paramere and short tubular virga (Fig. 3g).
