Storytelling - Metoda Povestitorul
Authors/Creators
Description
The Relator Method ("Povestitorul" Method) is a scientific storytelling method built on the paradigm that the story has a major epiphany, which must deliver to the listeners the main understanding or lesson of the story.
The method starts from the authors' theory that "the story is a representation model of the understanding process"; she (the story) reconstructing "the route which primitive man observed his own mind to follow in passing from ignorance to understanding." And, from this perspective, storytelling becomes a process of transmitting the experience from the storyteller to the audience.
Being a constructivist method that aims to lead the audience to a certain understanding, the Relator ("Povestitorul") Method can be applied in education, marketing, communication and political discourse, pastoral theology and even in the construction of the final pleadings of the pleaders before the court of law.
Due to the fact that the story is a representation of the process of understanding, the Relator ("Povestitorul") Method is also presented as a tool to reduce functional illiteracy, currently being applied by teachers in Romania.
